Bury Your Body of Sin – 3D Worship: Daily Decision Devotions
Death is not fun. No one likes thinking about dying. But that is exactly what happens to your old nature when you are baptized into Jesus Christ.
When you joined Jesus Christ in baptism,
(Romans 6:3)
you joined him in his death.
Making God’s Word the Ruler of your life, is a cause for celebration ! And heaven celebrates when you decide to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. What could ever be better than God forgiving your sins? Each time you choose the LORD, you hit a spiritual bullseye.

Now you can understand why water baptism harkens to the depths of your soul. Of your own free will, you give God the reigns of your heart and mind. You inner self says,
“Thy will be done, not my will.”
And a burden lifts off your shoulders as Jesus carries away your sin. Phew. What a relief. You can almost hear your soul crying out,
“NO MORE SIN! Please . . . No more sin.”
No more misery. No more heartache. No more hate. Hallelujah !
Have you ever noticed how bad habits snatch away your vitality? But when you say to God, “I will do YOUR will.” Your vitality renews itself every minute of the day because your mind is anchored on the hope that comes from trusting the Word of God. It is comforting to know that all your transgressions are buried in the sea of forgiveness, and God remembers your sin no more.
When your spirit joins with Christ, imagine a joyous celebration of life in heaven (Luke 15:4-10). That’s what the death of your flesh looks like to the Father of Light. It’s a celebration. To die to yourself is to live in Christ Jesus.
And just as Jesus willingly sacrificed his life to die on the cross, you must put your own will to death and follow Christ. And that’s what happens at your water baptism. It’s a funeral for your old man. Your human nature is buried deep down in the abyss, while your spirit nature rises with the Son of God. Out of the waters of salvation, a new creation is born, who sits with Christ Jesus in heaven.
Your
water baptism
is a funeral for
your old man.
You become an adopted son into the Kingdom of God–a partaker in all the blessings of Abraham. Your new life in Christ promises peace and prosperity for spirit, soul, and body.
So go on and bury your body of sin.
Practice saying:-
“Rest in peace,
my will”
Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but He died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but He was raised to life in the Spirit.
1 PETER 3:18
Please stop right now and take 5 minutes to remember your water baptism in Christ. Then praise his holy name.
