self-paced courses.

Social Media plays a significant part in helping achieve social awareness in today’s global society. And never before has being politically conscious been more urgent. Everyone must get involved at a personal level, and to play your part in history, you need to know your stand and position on national and world affairs.

Like any book club, membership opens up a world of reading enjoyment. At TOG Book Club, our mission is to help you shape your perspective on national issues by bringing you the facts through a unique selection of literature. As you read and apply the e-learning techniques available through the discussion forums, you can make your own informed decision.

Right now, the world lives in the information age, and TOG Book Club provides electronic collaboration tools for helping people understand its impact on social norms. We offer:-

  • e-Learning – Using ‘Learning Thru Literature’ teaching methods, you can participate in courses to enrich your understanding of key issues impacting the world today.
  • e-Groups to meet and greet one another while talking about ideas and concepts that are shaping the world in which we live.

Membership includes:

  1. 30-day access to 2 courses each month.
  1. Study guide for the selected course textbook.
  1. Webinar with chapter by chapter book summary.
  1. Engage with other club members by attending optional online book meetings. (Minimum of 5 attendees required)
  1. Discuss application of book concepts to world affairs in an e-group discussion forum.

6. (TOG) Book Club Discussion Boards. Each course has an online classroom for conversation and the exchange of ideas among like-minded individuals.

Learning outcomes are enhanced in two ways:-

First : It’s a Book Club:

  • Book club members simply enjoy literature. Learning happens naturally as you ponder the passages of prose with the aid of guided reflections. Then ask questions in the discussion forum to clarify understanding.
  • Interact with other club members in discussion forums and stimulate constructive learning.
  • It’s a fun way to meet with like-minded people online and build social consciousness.

Second: It’s a “Learning Thru Literature” Course

Each course textbook selected to emphasize social justice and civic responsibility. These learning forums provide ideas for action in your own community. By responding to writing prompts you:

  • Think through the significance of the topic objectively and develop your own perspective and personal action plan.
  • Balance your views with facts. Compare and contrast two sides of a situation.
  • Shape and structure your personal point-of-view on critical issues facing every American and the world today.
