Diet Philosophy
Colossians 2:8 : See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.
Love Yourself
Humans are three-parts: two-thirds invisible (soul and spirit); , one-third visible (body). That’s why self care should include a spiritual element; otherwise, two-thirds of your-Self will be neglected. For me self-care is rooted in Jesus Christ. Taking care of my-Self depends on following a God who loves me. The Bible tells me that Jesus died that my soul would live to glorify His Word. He died because He loves me. I can’t imagine a life without mercy and forgiveness. Only Christ can save me from sin and change bad eating habits to good eating habits; He is the Savior of my soul. Good Living@the-Throne-of-Grace focuses on the Holy Scriptures that will minister self love to the invisible parts of you and strengthen your-Self. Nutritious Diet-Style
Diet-Style is your eating philosophy. It’s your fundamental beliefs about what you eat, when you eat, and why you eat. It’s your food preferences. Diet can be a noun and a verb. As a verb, we diet to trim off excess weight. When used as a noun, diet is our habitual nourishment; it’s the food and drink we consume regularly. Our diet impacts our life and our health. So this website is about developing a natural foods dietary style. (Take the Nutrition Quiz)
Education
Knowledge is power. The Bible says “Lack of knowledge is why people perish.” At the Throne of Grace I stand against dietary ignorance by educating my mind. By creating this online journal, I’m filling my mind each day with knowledge. I’m learning WHY maintaining a healthy weight is important, and understanding HOW different foods impact my body. Developing mindful eating practices as a meal-by-meal habit ensures success. (Visit Webinar Shop and begin the trainings designed to help you assimilate knowledge and understanding.)
Journaling
Journaling our emotional eating habits spotlights areas of both weakness and strength. Comprehending why we are reaching for the food will show patterns of our problem solving and unhealthy coping mechanism. Writing down our thoughts will illuminate why we eat when we’re not hungry. Once these areas are identified, we can find alternative strategies for resolving those issues. Talking to yourself about your weight and food should happen daily. Including these discussions in your life each day reaffirms your commitment to your Diet-Style and philosophy. It is critical for success. (Take the 40-Day Challenge)
Mindful Eating
What are your thoughts before you eat? That’s what you want to ask yourself before putting even one morsel of food in your mouth. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. Every food item that passes your lips must be qualified to satisfied a real hunger need. Otherwise, why are you eating it? Nip emotional eating in the bud by exposing it in your journal. The moment we stop thinking mindfully before each meal is the moment we go back to the Standard American Diet (SAD). We don’t want SAD eating, we want (Good Living Abundant Diet) GLAD eating. Taking every thought captive and bring down those imaginations in the high places. (Practice SHE-FUN)
2 Corinthians 10:5 : Casting down imaginations, arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Accountability
To be accountable is to record my progress daily. It means meal-by- meal portion control, weekly weigh-ins, practicing habits proven to work. To establish your commitment to the lifestyle, you listen to success stories and read information that will validate why I’m following a new way of living. (Subscribe to the podcasts to receive reinforcements in times of weakness.)

Prayer
Standing on the Holy Scriptures during times of weakness brings LORD God into the battle. This alone ensures victory. Be still and hear your voice speaking to your self from within. Tune your spirit into the Holy Spirit; then take the time to listen to your spirit. Fill your mind with the Word of God on this website and ponder upon its meaning. Here is the electronic safe place I run to and hide away from stress and boredom. Reading the word of God redirects my thoughts through prayer and meditation to God Most High. It’s a positive response to negative thinking. Instead of eating, I draw courage from the words in this meeting space. I strengthen my resolve by crafting a new mindset about my diet-style.
