October 21, 2018 – Sunday
I fasted today until 5:00 p.m. Then I ate a huge salad–spinach, romaine lettuce, feta cheese pieces, a spoon of tortellini, a splash of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of olive oil. The Hunger Meter registered ‘E’ for Empty; so the salad tasted like filet mignon. I did have baked chick breasts for protein in the salad. For desert, some raspberries with a small dollop of greek yogurt. Each raspberry burst flavor inside my mouth. Their ripe sweetness reminded me of God’s good earth. How bountiful is His provision.
I went grocery shopping in anticipation of the week ahead eating healthy and delicious food. Somewhere after my children became adults I grew to loath grocery shopping. BIG PROBLEM for healthy eating. Restaurant food is loaded with salt, fat, and sugar. I struggled to relax my mind so that I would enjoy the shopping experience. Everything is an EXPERIENCE these days.
I composed a grocery list (I never shop without a list) and away I went. With camera in hand I took a few shots to tantalize you with. Over the week look forward to a few shots of my tasty, home-cooked meals. Stay tuned.
God provided everything man needs for good health and wellness. We just have to tap into it. Appreciation is step one. Come ! Appreciate God’s goodness with me.
