The Creator’s Breath In You
The Hebrew Old Testament is the story about the God of the Universe. It is His-Story about the creation of the world and the creatures He created to inhabit His world.
It is the story of His plan to preserve His Essence amongst His creation, and gain the willing worship from all that He had created.
The Holy Scriptures is God’s Word that He entrusted to the care of His set-apart people, His servant,–Israel. The Hebrew Torah is Gods written Word to all humankind concerning His plan of salvation for the entire world. His words are loving guides to help all the universe come to the knowledge of its Creator.
Selfish Worship
The Book of Isaiah is often called “The Gospel” of the Old Testament. God’s plan and purpose was to dwell within humankind on earth; so He created the perfect universe for His creation to live and thrive–He created earth. Because He wanted Himself to be King and Lord of human hearts, God created humankind in His image, i.e., with freewill and choice. He gave them His Spirit.
Humankind, however, preferred doing their own thing– rather than listening to God’s voice, which the Creator had tucked deep within their being. They wanted to worship a god they could see, touch, taste, hear, smell. Unfortunately, these five senses only engage the physical realm.
In addition, the human spirit sometimes prefers to connect with dark and bad spirits, rather than a light and godly spirit. In other words, they want to forego good moral judgment. Immediate gratification disregards future consequences.

What is Worship
Worship is the longing of a human soul to belong. First and foremost, the soul longs to be accepted by a deity. The soul desires to be part of something great. This longing causes humankind to attach its soul to ideals and philosophies of existence that differ from those of a moral or holy deity.
God intended for this spiritual yearning within the human heart to draw near to His Holy Spirit. God’s will is that humans would value belonging to His Kingdom of righteousness, peace, joy, and justice. He wants humankind to know they belong to the Kingdom of God. That is their true identity. It is within this identity that a soul finds rest.
The LORD wants each soul to connect with the heavenly angels who worship the Creator. He does not want them to connect with the fallen disobedient angels of darkness.
The desire to worship begins in the spiritual realm. This is sometimes called “the sixth sense”. This is the realm where the Almighty Creator blew His mighty breath into His creature. This is the realm that includes intuition, conscience, morality, the will to choose, justice, etc.
God gave human beings His spirit, and that breath yearns to return back to the identity, character, and essence of its Source.
The LORD had hoped humans would choose to adore their Creator’s value and worth. Alas, this was not to be. Rebellion began from the very beginning; it started with the first son of God, Adam.
It’s a good thing God made a back-up plan, because human rejection continued. God’s chosen people, The Israelites, gave the Creator a big “thumbs down” and demanded a king be put in the LORD’s place.
So God gave them a king– along with a prophet and a priest. The prophet was to serve the king as God’s voice and conscience. The priests would serve the people as ministers of God’s acceptable spiritual worship.
